GLP-1 · 6 min read
The week-twelve plateau is data, not failure.
A short GLP-1 weight plateau can reflect fluid shifts, digestion, menstrual changes, sleep, intake, or normal variation. Review several weeks of trends with the care team before changing the plan, and never adjust medication dose or schedule without the prescriber.
Define the plateau before reacting
Daily weight changes with hydration, sodium, digestion, and menstrual cycles. Look across several weeks and include measurements, clothing fit, energy, and strength. One flat week is not enough evidence that treatment has stopped helping.
Review the whole plan
Check protein and total intake, hydration, constipation, training consistency, sleep, stress, medication tolerance, and any new health changes. Sometimes the useful adjustment is outside the prescription.
Do not chase the scale with dose changes
A higher dose is not automatically better, and side effects are not proof that treatment is working. The prescriber decides whether medication, monitoring, or another part of care should change.
Keep the next step measurable
Choose a few actions you can repeat and review. The GLP-1 guide explains the longer treatment arc, and OptimalHer is designed to keep daily patterns in one place.
Results vary. Optimal Wellness Clinic currently prescribes compounded GLP-1 medications only when a licensed provider determines they are medically necessary and appropriate. Compounded medications are not FDA-approved or generic equivalents of branded products, and results from branded-drug trials do not establish results for compounded preparations.
