Where to inject semaglutide—and why rotation matters.
Semaglutide products are generally injected under the skin in an approved area such as the abdomen, thigh, or upper arm, following the exact product instructions and clinician training. Rotate sites rather than repeatedly using the same spot, and never share injection equipment.
Your product instructions come first
Devices and compounded preparations may differ. Follow the label, pharmacy instructions, and hands-on teaching for the exact product prescribed to you. Do not copy another person's device technique or dosing process.
Choose an approved area
Common subcutaneous areas include the abdomen, thigh, or upper arm, depending on the product instructions. Avoid skin that is tender, bruised, scarred, hard, irritated, or otherwise unsuitable, and ask the care team if you are uncertain.
Rotate instead of repeating one point
Move to a different appropriate spot each time rather than repeatedly using the same location. Rotation helps reduce local irritation and tissue changes. Keep a simple site record if remembering the sequence is difficult.
Report reactions and protect the equipment
Contact the clinic about persistent, spreading, painful, or concerning site reactions or signs of allergy. Never share pens, needles, or syringes. OptimalHer records the site information you enter, while all dosing and technique decisions remain with the clinical team.
Results vary. Optimal Wellness Clinic currently prescribes compounded GLP-1 medications only when a licensed provider determines they are medically necessary and appropriate. Compounded medications are not FDA-approved or generic equivalents of branded products, and results from branded-drug trials do not establish results for compounded preparations.
