Strength training on a GLP-1: start with a plan you can repeat.
A beginner GLP-1 strength plan can use two or three weekly full-body sessions built around a squat, hinge, push, pull, and carry. Start with controlled technique and progress gradually. Exercise should be individualized for symptoms, medical conditions, and recovery.
Begin with five movement patterns
A squat, hinge, push, pull, and carry cover the major patterns without requiring a complicated split. Body weight, bands, dumbbells, or machines can all work. The right version is the one you can perform with control.
Train consistently before training hard
Two or three short full-body sessions can be more useful than one exhausting day. Leave room for recovery, especially when appetite, hydration, sleep, or medication side effects are changing.
Progress one variable
Add a repetition, a small amount of resistance, or a more challenging variation when technique stays steady. Track what you did. Progress based on evidence is safer than guessing or trying to make every workout feel harder.
Pair training with enough support
Protein, hydration, and communication with the clinical team belong beside the workout. Read how to support muscle retention or request training with Tabby.
Results vary. Optimal Wellness Clinic currently prescribes compounded GLP-1 medications only when a licensed provider determines they are medically necessary and appropriate. Compounded medications are not FDA-approved or generic equivalents of branded products, and results from branded-drug trials do not establish results for compounded preparations.
